Pacific Coast Highway RV Trip – Vista, CA to Long Beach, CA

Pacific Coast Highway RV Trip – Week One This was the first week of our RV trip to Alaska via the Pacific Coast Highway. In actuality, we didn’t get on the Pacific Coast Highway to get to our first stop, but we will be using it the rest of the way north to Washington state. Our first week was a short 2 hour, 89 mile drive from our vacation home in Vista, CA to Golden Shore RV Park in Long Beach, CA. Since we purchased our RV in November 2010, we’ve stayed at about 20 RV parks, and this was definitely one of my favorites. The spaces were nice and wide, included a park bench, room to park our car, and the sites were nice and flat. The best part about Golden Shore RV Park was the location. The park is right on the edge of downtown and is within walking distance to the Catalina Island ferry. It also backs right up to a bike path that goes 50 miles to the north along the LA River and also extends to the heart of Long Beach in the other direction. Saturday Saturday was our travel day from Vista to Long Beach. We left our house shortly after noon and arrived at Golden Shore RV Park right around 3pm. We took a combination of I-5, I-405, and I-710 to get there. Traffic was a nightmare as we approached, and drove though San Clemente, but opened up after that. Regardless, I was exhausted upon arrival; there is never a dull moment driving in the LA area with a 43′ RV +...

WordPress Themes Wrap-Up – March

I normally really enjoy making these monthly update posts, but I’ve been dreading have to do it this month. That’s because I failed to reach one of my goals, for the second month in a row. I really hate not being able to make deadlines and it’s even more frustrating when it’s something out of my control. Anyway, it’s not all bad since it was a good month apart from that. Review March Goals: Get New Design Up – This is the goal that I failed at for the second month in a row. It turns out the advanced search feature I’m trying to get done is quite complicated and I can’t seem to find a competent WordPress coding firm that can handle this. Of course they all say they can do it out of the gate and then fall on their face weeks later. The problem is that it’s costing me time. I think the people who are working on it now can actually get this done – I hope. I know this feature will increase my conversion by some huge amount, so I’m really getting frustrated by not having this on the site. Add More Themes – Since this was in my control, I met this goal. I now have more than 200 themes on wpthemes.net and over 335 themes on wordpressthemes.com Build Sales And Traffic – I totally crushed this goal, like totally knocked it out of the park. I more than doubled last month’s sales total of 237 with a new sales record of 555 for April. I also set a new traffic record with...

Flackers by Doctor In The Kitchen

It’s been awhile since I made a post under the “Eating Healthy” category, but I just discovered an amazing product that is a perfect reason to end the drought. The product is called Flackers made by a company called Doctor In The Kitchen. I purchased them at my favorite grocery store, Whole Foods, but you can order them via their website too. What are Flackers? Flackers are a cracker made out of flax seeds and other organic ingredients that not only taste good, but are good for you. Most crackers are made out of bleached flour and other processed ingredients. With Flackers you are eating a gluten free, raw vegan product. Three Flackers pack 7g of fiber (27% of daily value) and 5g of protein. They also only have 110 calories, which is way less than a comparable amount of Ritz crackers or chips. What to do with Flackers The reason I’m so excited to find this product is that I can now feel good about eating the other healthy foods I’ve discovered that taste good on an otherwise unhealthy cracker or chip. Foods like hummus, salsa, and garlic spread. When I read the list of ingredients, I expected a cracker that tasted more like cardboard, but I was totally shocked that these things actually taste good (really good). They taste a lot like cracker bread, but it isn’t fried or soaked in butter. Ingredients Flackers are made from 100% organic ingredients that you can feel good about putting in your body. These ingredients include organic flax seeds, organic apple cider vinegar, vegetable protein from non-GMO soybeans and purified...
